Alan Ware (a nursing home administrator) and Justin Strawn (a social worker) founded Insight because they believed people with developmental disabilities deserved something the corporate system couldn't offer: a real home, a consistent team, and a relationship that lasts.
That's still what we deliver, every day, in every home.

ISL is a Missouri DMH-funded service that provides adults with developmental disabilities a community-based home and individualized support. Unlike a group home or nursing facility, ISL is designed around each person's specific goals, preferences, and needs, not a one-size-fits-all program.
Most Insight services are funded through Missouri's Medicaid Home and Community Based Services (HCBS) waivers. Eligibility requires a Division of Developmental Disabilities determination, MO HealthNet (Medicaid) eligibility, and a support coordinator. If you're not sure where your person stands, contact us and we'll help you find out.
It depends on your person's current waiver and funding status. If funding is already in place, onboarding can often begin within a few weeks. If you're starting the DMH process from the beginning, eligibility and waiver enrollment take longer, and we can help you through it.
