A personal care assistant helps with the routines that support independent living, including bathing, dressing, grooming, hygiene, and similar daily tasks. Support is scheduled around the person and the help they need.

The goal is straightforward: the right help with daily activities at the right times, so people can remain comfortable and as independent as possible at home.

Who this service is for

People with a developmental disability or another qualifying condition who need scheduled, in-home help with daily personal care and want to remain independent at home.

Eligibility

Personal Care Assistance is funded through Missouri's Medicaid programs and depends on assessed need and an authorized plan. Funding may come through the Division of Developmental Disabilities waivers or MO HealthNet, depending on the person's situation.
