Accessibility Statement

Last updated: [COUNSEL: insert effective date before launch]

In plain terms: we aim to meet WCAG 2.2 AA on this website, we test it by hand rather than relying on an automated overlay, and if you hit a barrier we treat your report as a priority fix, not a backlog item.

Accessibility isn't an afterthought for us, it's the point. Insight exists to support adults with developmental disabilities, and we hold this website to the same standard of care we bring to everything else we do. We are committed to ensuring this site is accessible to people with a wide range of disabilities, and we review and improve it on an ongoing basis.

Conformance target

We aim to conform to the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2 at Level AA. These guidelines explain how to make web content more usable for people with visual, auditory, motor, and cognitive disabilities. We review this site against these standards as part of our regular maintenance, rather than relying on an automated overlay tool to do that work for us.

Measures we take

  • Semantic HTML, descriptive headings, and meaningful link text
  • Keyboard-operable navigation and a visible "skip to main content" link
  • Sufficient color contrast and clear, visible focus indicators
  • Alternative text for meaningful images
  • Compatibility with common screen readers and assistive technologies

Known limitations

Despite our efforts, some content may not yet be fully accessible, for example, older PDFs or third-party embedded content we don't fully control. We welcome your feedback and treat reported barriers as a priority to fix, not a backlog item.

Title VI and ADA grievance procedure

As a Missouri DMH-funded provider, Insight does not discriminate on the basis of disability, race, color, or national origin in its programs, services, or this website, consistent with Title VI of the Civil Rights Act and the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA). If you believe you have been subjected to discrimination or denied access because of a disability, you may file a written grievance with our office within 180 days of the alleged incident using the contact information below. We will investigate and respond in writing.
